Gen 1:1-3 (NIV)1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Happy New Year! You made it! This is a time in our linear, 3rd dimension calendar that most people set new goals, make new commitments to change, lose weight, etc. This is a PERFECT time for you and I to rework our 25 word statement, hone our existing goals, set new commitments to excellence in achieving those goals, and shedding light on the pathway to achieving those goals. This week needs to be a time of deep reflection, spiritual prayer and fasting of some sort, and commitment to God as HE DIRECTS OUR PATHS and WE COMMIT OUR WAY TO HIM.
You are at the beginning of a new calendar year. God was at the beginning of His creation in Genesis 1. He took a formless, empty, void, toilet bowl of destruction (actual Hebrew meaning of "formless and void), and He began to SPEAK to it. He began to speak His intentions, and all of Heaven and the natural earth responded and obeyed. "LET THERE BE LIGHT". And the light came.

Today, you and I should be saying, "LET THERE BE LIGHT". This light is spiritual light, insight, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. It wasn't the light of the sun, because the sun was created on the 4th day. In the first day part of your goal setting, there must be LIGHT, and that light must be illumination from Heaven, not earthly light. We are looking to Heaven for God's intention, will, and purpose in our life and future. Therefore, we speak forth boldly and loudly, "LET THERE BE LIGHT"!
I might recommend that you re-visit all of your goals and your 25 word statement. It might be time to add to them, hone, tweak, re-identify, or re-position them. This is the week to set your sails for the coming one and five years - with intentions of hitting your goals. Remember, will you know when you hit the goal? A true goal has a target which everyone knows when it is hit.
As for the rest of today's reading, I could personally stay in Genesis 1 - 3 for a year because this is the secret key to the garden of Eden, the flow of money, wealth, healing, and the very essence of life for mankind through 4 streams. It's also the key to left/right, good/evil, and the tree that causes men to lose their identity and authority, "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil". There is so much to say.
Tomorrow's Reading:
2-Jan Genesis 3-4, Matthew 3-4, Psalms 6-10, Proverbs 2
3-Jan Genesis 5-6, Matthew 5-6, Psalms 11-15, Proverbs 3
