10-Jun 2 Kings 19-20, Luke 7-8, Psalms 51-55, Proverbs 10

2 Kings 19:32-37 (NIV) 32 "Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria: "He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it. 33 By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city, declares the Lord. 34 I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant." 35 That night the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning--there were all the dead bodies! 36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there. 37 One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer cut him down with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.
King Hezekiah had enjoyed great success and blessing at the hand of God who walked with him.  He was a breath of fresh air.  But then the moment came (king of like the movie 300 where the king sent a wicked, powerful messenger to Sparta).  The Asserian king sent a messenger to mock, ridicule, and command Hezekiah to bow to the most powerful force on the planet.  The people heard this man issuing threats of Annihilation and death to the nation if they didn't submit.  this was the real deal, and this king was serious about crushing Hezekiah if he didn't submit to wickedness.  All other kings and nations had been destroyed by this king and the threats were valid towards Israel also(?).
But Hezekiah took this to the Lord and to Isaiah the prophet.  God answered and said that this all powerful king had insulted God personally and would lose his kingdom over his threats and attitude towards God.  Sure enough, God went out and somehow killed 185,000 men in the Assyrian camp. When the other soldiers and leaders woke up that next morning, they found the bulk of the army dead in the bunks. WOW! Not long after, the king was assassinated and his son took over the kingdom.  The threat level went from high threat to no threat.  God personally got involved in protecting His friend and servant Hezekiah.

Do NOT be discouraged.  If you have made peace with God through the blood of Jesus, and if you are a follower of Christ, you are friends, family, royalty, and kings.  And as one who is seated at the right hand of the Father in heavenly places, you have great influence and capacity with God.  When the devil or any messenger of Satan comes your way to threaten your existence if you don't comply and submit, then you have God's full attention.  He will personally stand with you as you stand for Him.  Hezekiah's success will be your success.  And what happened to that wicked king of Assyria will also happen to any spiritual entity that tries to put you under direct satanic control!

There are benefits to walking with God.  One of them is Psalm 91 protection and incredible movements from Heaven against satans minions who attempt to attack God's children with threats, terror, and control. Those benefits are yours as part of Heaven's eternal life package for all of God's children who follow Christ.  kingcheersking
