4-Jan Genesis 7-8, Matthew 7-8, Psalms 16-20, Proverbs 4

Gen 7:1-5 (NIV)1 The Lord then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. 2 Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, 3 and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made." 5 And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.

One thing about Noah is that he just kept doing ALL THAT THE LORD COMMANDED HIM!  This guy is a real hero in the faith. When it had never rained, he obeyed and built a boat BY FAITH.  When the world was fully corrupted and evil, he maintained innocence and righteousness.  He took on a massive project that would take decades to complete, spending his hard earned money and resources.  What an incredible icon to follow after.

As a matter of fact, Noah had three things that set him apart from the rest of the crowd.

Gen 6:9 (NIV)9 This is the account of Noah.  Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.

Noah was RIGHTEOUS.  This means to me that he was RIGHT WITH GOD, or he was STANDING RIGHT WITH GOD.  He stood where God stood on every issue, and in every circumstance. He was an ally, a friend, a loyal follower, and a RIGHTEOUS man.

Noah was blameless among the people of his time.  No one could point at Noah and complain about him, or say of him that he was corrupt, a bad man, a thief, etc.  He was pure and innocent among the people of his community, and he represented a good man and a good life.

Noah walked with God.  He was friends with God, and He included God in everything he did.  He followed God, and pursued where God was going.  Because of these three things, Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord, and God assigned him to take the genetic code, the seed and plan of God, into the new world after God would destroy all creation.  Noah was chosen by God, and you can be chosen also!

With the help of the Holy Spirit, through the blood of Jesus Christ, you and I can display these same three qualities in our lives.  We can walk in RIGHT STANDING WITH GOD, we can BE BLAMELESS AMONG THE PEOPLE OF OUR TIME, and we can WALK WITH GOD every day.

Are you ready to take God's promise into a new world, and into the next generation?  Are you ready to be chosen by God to receive the whole world as an inheritance, freely given  to you without opposition of any earthly force?   cheers king  cheers

Hebrews 11:7 (NIV) [7] By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

Noah heard things from God that he couldnt naturally relate to. It had never rained on earth up tothis point. There were no boats, as the world atmosphere was at that time, watering the world as a terrarium, with a water dome overhead. Yet Noah walked in holy fear and respect of God, and by faith in Gods instruction, he did what God said and began to build an ark that would save his family, and all of Gods genetic pattern and seed for the future.

We should also live by faith, and respond to Gods instruction when He speaks. We live by faith. It is impossible to please God without a walk of faith. Noah gave the supreme example of living by faith, by taking on a building project that would take decades to build. If Noah was wrong, he would have the largest non usable boat in the world. But if he was right in his decision to follow the command, he would save his family and future.

May we also have the faith to obey Gods voice, will, and command!

Wonderful to read your thoughts on the Bible passage! Thanks for this. About the Noah movie, I saw it and was very disappointed. It is completely off line with the story in the Bible. Noah in this movie is not the Noah of the Bible. It becomes an environmentalist message. Man is being destroyed because of what he does to nature. Noah believes he is to perish along with everyone even though he is building he ark! What was the point of the ark then? Noah's sons are not properly portrayed and don't have their wives except for Shem, who finds a wife in a girl they rescue. While they are in the ark she is pregnant and has twins. Noah threatens to kill them! He believes they are not to go on and reproduce! Totally off the wall and not in line with the Bible! Very disappointed in this movie! I do not recommend it.Any thoughts about it if you watched it? I enjoy the compass reading and comments!

I saw the movie. You are exactly right. The movie could be easily been perfectly executed. What a waste of time, money, talent and movie making skill. It turned the truth of Noah into a fairytale, complete with walking trees who helped him build the ark..... what? The real story of Noah is powerful and complete, and until Hollyweird wants to produce truth in movies, we'll have to see the movie in our imagination as we read the Word of God. And in that imagination, God can speak powerfully to us through inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Blessings!
