04/25 Thoughts & Comments By Dr. Daniel Daves

25-Apr 1 Sam. 5-6 1 Peter 1-2 Psalms 121-125 Proverbs 25

1 Sam 6:3-5 (NIV)3 They answered, "If you return the ark of the god of Israel, do not send it away empty, but by all means send a guilt offering to him. Then you will be healed, and you will know why his hand has not been lifted from you."  4 The Philistines asked, "What guilt offering should we send to him?" They replied, "Five gold tumors and five gold rats, according to the number of the Philistine rulers, because the same plague has struck both you and your rulers. 5 Make models of the tumors and of the rats that are destroying the country, and pay honor to Israel's god. Perhaps he will lift his hand from you and your gods and your land.

The Philistines thought that they were the heroes of the day when they captured the ark of God from Israel.  Six months later they were trying to figure a way to get that same ark out of town.  Their god Dagon fell over and his head and hands were broken off their prized statue.  They had a national infestation of rats, panic, death, and tumors that afflicted them all.  All five leaders of the Philistines had huge tumors growing on them.  They finally worked a plan to get that ark out of town and back to where it belongs. They sent it away with an offering of 5 golden rats and 5 golden tumors.  Can you imagine being the gold jeweler that got the call from their government, asking him to build 5 golden tumors for them? Funny!

Whenever you corral or harness the power of God (the ark) for your own purposes, you will fall into real trouble.  It's a real bad idea to misuse, abuse, or capture God's presence, His giftings, Power, and authority, and then subject it to your own little ideas, your Dagon gods, or your own ways.  God is not a man that you can capture, manipulate, or force into doing your will.

Remember the old Indiana Jones movie where the Nazi's were in a race to capture the ark so they could rule the world with the ark's power? It would never work.  That ark represents God's power only. It does not work for man's ways or vision.  Anyone who attempts to capture and mis-use God's presence will endure fear, tumors, panic, and death.

COMPASS GUIDE will keep you straight regarding vision, focus, and God's power working in your life.  If it's true that God's power is not available for the vision and plans of men, then we must get God's vision for our lives, and tap into the direction, blessing, and power of God's ark (his presence).  If you've been through the COMPASS GUIDE seminar, you know that we will dig deep into God's presence and pull out a 25 word statement which is your CORE VISION that comes from God.  You can trust your core vision.  You can head in that direction and know that the ark will bless it.  There are no tumors, rats, fear, or panic in the path that COMPASS GUIDE will lead you onto.  I highly recommend that you take the seminar and get the book if you have not already.  And for those who have, I encourage you to re-read your 25 Word Core Vision Statement and make plans to accomplish a goal in line with that statement this week!  God will bless, cover, protect, and multiply your goals and plans as a co-operative, and as a co-ordinator with you.   king sunny  cheers
