12/16 Reading - Thoughts & Comments DX3

Because our hearts drift towards deception and wickedness, God has promised to help refine and define your goals and plans to make you ultimately successful!  Here's how:

Today's Reading:  16-Dec Nahum 1-3, 2 Cor. 9-10, Psalms 96-100, Proverbs 16

Proverbs 16:1-3 (NIV) 16 To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. 2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

These three verses sum up a big piece of the COMPASS GUIDE program, and give you a scriptural under girding for everything that you will do in your life.
1. We can all make plans in our hearts, but we need to hear what reply comes from the mouth of the Lord.  How do we hear His reply?  Through prayer and listening, and mostly through reading the Holy Bible, the Word of the Lord.  The Bible will light up your path and show you the steps to take.  The Bible will lead and guide you, and tell you which parts of your heart's desires are not right, and which parts are right.  The Bible will cut off the selfish, ignorant, adamic part of your heart's plans, and will direct you correctly in the way of the Lord, keeping you on divine track.  Remember, the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things (Jer. 17:9) .  It needs to be filtered by the Word of God.  Our hearts can deceive us, and our heart's plans can be wicked while appearing to be good and right.  God's Word is the application that will reply to our heart's desires.
2.  God will weigh the motives of a person, even when that person thinks that their ways are pure.  A good does of the Word of God, (fire and a sword) will bring swift correction to the supposed "pure" ways of a person.
3.  Therefore, if you will commit to the Lord, to His Word, and to His reply - whatever you are doing, and keep it committed to Him, your plans will succeed because they will be honed, sharpened, judged, and ran through the fire of God's Kingdom.  Whatever comes out on the other side will be successful.  You can rely and trust in the reply of God's tongue and what He says about your plans.
