05/29 Thoughts & Comments By Dr. Daniel Daves
29-May 1 Kings 17-18, Matthew 27-28, Psalms 141-145, Proverbs 29
1 Kings 17:7-16 (NIV) 7 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. 8 Then the word of the LORD came to him: 9 "Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food." 10 So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?" 11 As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread." 12 "As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread--only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it--and die." 13 Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.'" 15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. 16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.
There is a dimension of provision in the middle of drought, famine, trouble, disease, pestilence and the natural judgments of God. This dimension is miraculous and it is full of supply to those who will walk in obedience to the voice of God. For the widow woman, the voice of God was speaking through Elijah. She obeyed and was saved from hunger and death. The torment of a 3 year drought was enough that they were losing people and animals. Of course the crops all failed and everything was reverting back to desert seed and dormancy. The judgments of God upon a hard hearted and rebellious people will always reduce them from prosperity and provision to lack and desert life.
We don't know much about the widow woman's past. Maybe she was rebellious and needed a good drought in her life to bring her to obedience. Maybe she lost her husband through the drought. Maybe she was always tender hearted towards God and therefore Elijah came to her. But the fact is that God sent help to her and required an act of faith, obedience, and honor from her. With that simple act of making a cake for Elijah and bringing him water, God would thrust her home into the realm of the supernatural. Her oil and flour would never run out as long as the natural drought persisted.
When drought, trouble, or famine comes on the land, make sure that you honor the prophet of God. One way to do this is to honor your 25 word Core Vision Statement which God gave you from the 4th dimension (COMPASS GUIDE SEMINAR). This statement speaks from Heaven and commands obedience to it. When you obey the prophetic, your supplies will never run out. You are living in the supernatural realm of the eternal, and there is enough supply and provision in that realm that you will never run out of needed supplies.
It's important for COMPASS GUIDE students to learn to walk in the 4th dimension every day. This is where true supernatural supply and provision come from. Third dimensional people are land locked into earthly provision only, but you can learn to live in the secret place, where supernatural supply under the command of God can be found in abundance.
