7-Jun 2 Kings 13-14, Luke 1-2, Psalms 36-40, Proverbs 7

2 Kings 13:14-19 (NIV) 14 Now Elisha was suffering from the illness from which he died. Jehoash king of Israel went down to see him and wept over him. "My father! My father!" he cried. "The chariots and horsemen of Israel!" 15 Elisha said, "Get a bow and some arrows," and he did so. 16 "Take the bow in your hands," he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king's hands. 17 "Open the east window," he said, and he opened it. "Shoot!" Elisha said, and he shot. "The Lord's arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!" Elisha declared. "You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek." 18 Then he said, "Take the arrows," and the king took them. Elisha told him, "Strike the ground." He struck it three times and stopped. 19 The man of God was angry with him and said, "You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times."

The prophet was giving final instruction to the king before he would die and his voice leave the earth.  He He would give prophetic instruction, the king would make a move, and then the prophet would solidify the movement as "DONE" in Heaven.  I believe that there is a strong principle being taught here.

What you bind on earth is bound in Heaven, and what you loose on earth is loosed in Heaven.  Everything we do on earth is a lead in to what Heaven is doing.  When we dance, Heaven dances.  When we stop moving, Heaven stops moving.  Elijah is going to direct the king to dance, and depending on what type of dance he delivers, this will be his prophetic destiny on the earth.

SHOOT!  Elisha directed the king to shoot an arrow out of the East window.  As the king shot, the prophet declared, "The Lord's Arrow Of Victory Over Aram!".

When Elisha directed the king to hit the arrows on the ground, he was looking for something.  Evidently he wanted the king to be angry and to hit the arrows repeatedly, using the arrow as a point of reference to war and victory. How many times he hits the arrows on the ground will be the amount of times that he will have victory over the king of Aram.  Did the king know this or not? I don't know.  But evidently the king wasn't paying attention because Elisha had just prophesied THE LORD'S ARROW OF VICTORY OVER ARAM!  So now with the arrows in his hand, how many times is he going to hit the arrows on the ground?

The king hit the arrows three times on the ground.  Elisha rebuked him and told him he should have at least hit them five or six times.  Amazingly, the king only defeated Aram three times during his reign, in fulfillment of the prophecy.

What can we take away from this?  I believe that we must be listening to the Lord for instruction.  When He speaks a prophetic word over us or tells us to do something, He wants us to be keen as to what He is saying.  If He is telling us that the arrows in our hand mean victory over Aram, then we need to be shooting them straight, and hitting them on the ground repeatedly in full emotion of war.

What has God given into your hand, and what gift, talent, or capacity has He given you and focused you on for His glory?  It's time to be aggressive with what God has put into your hand.  Don't be wimpy like the king was with his arrows.  Hit the ground running at 110% for God!  If you were Moses, you need to thrust your staff up in the air with force and passion.  Part those waters so the people can walk across on dry land.  If you're David, get to practicing with that sling shot.  If you're a sales person, become the very best at your skill and craft. Mother? Preacher? Motivational speaker? Technician?  Become the very best of all in the industry! Push like the prophet told the king to push, and God will make you completely victorious in your calling!   king king  king
