23-Aug Ecclesiastes 9-10, 1 Tim. 5-6, Psalms 121-125, Proverbs 23
Ecclesiastes 9:17-18 (NIV) 17 The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools. 18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.
Wisdom. It's better than a weapon of war. Why? Because wisdom can bring about change and can re-arrange chaos into order without destroying things.
Proverbs 3:19 (NIV) 19 By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
God created the earth by wisdom. It was perfectly assembled with purpose, vision and capacity to fulfill God's greater plan. Wisdom is available to you and I today. But we must pay a heavy price for wisdom. It will cost everything you have. It will require that you esteem and embrace wisdom above all else. You must love wisdom and refuse to forsake wisdom. You must trust wisdom with your life and your future, even when times are dark.
Proverbs 4:5-8 (NIV) 5 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. 6 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. 7 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. 8 Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.
The alternative to wisdom is weapons of war. Some people just love to blow stuff up. Marriages, families, churches, business relationships, jobs, and communities. While these people are masters of destruction, wisdom considers them fools.
WISDOM IS SUPREME. Wisdom starts with the fear of the Lord (Pr. 1:7). Honor/fear/reverence means to strive to enter His rest and to find His plan for our lives. COMPASS GUIDE will help you to find, pay for and embrace wisdom. It's a great start to come out of past failures and enter into the wisdom of the wise. www.mycompassguide.com
