08/25 Compass Guide Comments By Dr. Daniel Daves
25-Aug Song Of Songs 1-2, 2 Tim. 3-4, Psalms 131-135, Proverbs 25
Proverbs 25:2-5 (NIV) 2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. 3 As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. 4 Remove the dross from the silver, and out comes material for the silversmith; 5 remove the wicked from the king's presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness.
One of God's glorious attributes is hiding precious treasure, jewels and wealth in plain site, right in front of all creation. God conceals it, and only kings can unveil and unravel it. The glory and power of a king is that he has the connection with God, the wisdom, and the capacity to search out the matter, and to find it. Only kings can do this effectively.
Did you know that you are a king? If you don't know it, you will pass by wealth, value and God's hidden treasures every day without even knowing what you are walking over. But the Bible declares that Jesus has made us both kings and priests, and that we should reign on the earth!
Revelation 5:10 (KJV) 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
While Christians have enjoyed learning about priesthood, serving God in His temple, and how to develop that vertical relationship between Heaven and earth, God is lighting up the understanding of His children to become the kings that He made us to be. Priests serve, but kings rule and reign. Priests have no direct inheritance, but kings have dominion over inheritance. Understanding that you are both king and priest is vital for the day that we live in. God is looking for people who will reign on the earth under His charge.
When you understand the thinking and movements of kings, you will begin to see hidden treasures all around you. Business opportunities, development programs and the "deals of a lifetime" present themselves to you. It's an amazing thing to dig out the things that God has hidden, and to inherit them as part of God's gift to you.
Some of the greatest treasures that God has hidden in people, are the gifts, callings and talents that are hidden deep inside of a person's heart and life. Many of our gifts and callings cannot be revealed until we step into the shoes of a king. Priests are servant oriented, but kings are dominion oriented. Once you understand "as a king" the command of God in Genesis to HAVE DOMINION, you will begin to search for the gifts and tools inside of you that allow you to have dominion and fulfill the command of God.
I highly encourage you to take the Compass Guide course this year, start your one year life planning program, and read Psalms and Proverbs every day for the next year. If you will read a Psalm and a Proverb (chapter) per day, you will read those books 12 times this year. You will begin to think like the kings who wrote these books. Dominion will begin to fill your mind and heart, and you will be empowered to dig out the most vital resources that God has hidden deep inside of you.
As you filter out the slave mentality and focus on the kings mentality, you will remove the wickedness that Proverbs 25 talks about... and God's throne will be established in your life, in righteousness.
Welcome to the kingdom of God my fellow king and priest!
