11-Jan Genesis 21-22, Matthew 21-22, Psalms 51-55, Proverbs 11

Gen 22:6-8 (NIV) As the two of them went on together, 7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?"  "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied.  "The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?" 8 Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together.

Abraham had such great faith and he had seen God work in his life so many times.  God's word was as good as gold, and He gave Abraham all the promises, right on time, and blessed him mightily.  Now God was requiring that Abraham take the promise (Isaac) up onto the mountain and sacrifice him.  While Abraham didn't understand what God was doing, he TRUSTED HIM.

The boy Isaac noticed something different that day as he and father were headed up onto the mountain.  He saw that they had brought fire, wood, and a knife.  But where was the sacrifice?  Abraham's reply says it all:  GOD HIMSELF WILL PROVIDE THE LAMB FOR THE BURNT OFFERING, MY SON.

Abraham didn't understand how this was going to work. He was simply obeying the command of God, and would sacrifice his son Isaac, the great and long awaited promise.  He would raise the knife over the boy before God would stop him and provide another sacrifice. Wow, what a story!

Being led by God, by His Word, and by divine revelational light, is not easy.  It's not always understood fully by our normal mind or carnal understanding.  But just like Abraham, BY FAITH, we must walk and obey the Lord's call.  This is imperative especially when setting goals and getting direction from the Lord.  He might begin to impress on you to go another way, or do back off on a certain issue.  He might lead and direct you in a way that your mind doesn't understand, but that your heart is at total peace with.  It's very important to submit to the leading of God.  He's the author of our goals, vision, and future.  The author must have a willing vessel that he can lead in ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Be sensitive to the leading of God while walking daily with Him.  He wants to direct you into green pastures, and He wants to bring you to divinely opened doors, strategic placement and "on time" appointments.  Obedience by faith will be required.   king king  king
