11/03 Reading - Thoughts & Comments DX3
Amazingly, a man sick for 38 years gets healed instantly by Jesus, then goes back to his old dead system which couldn't heal him for that 38 years!
3-Nov Ezekiel 11-12, John 5-6, Psalms 31-35, Proverbs 3
John 5:1-15 Jesus comes up to a man who's been serving God, doing the same old thing for 38 years. He's crippled and has never received what he needed from the old system. Yet he went back day after day. It looks to me like he needs a Compass Guide to identify his problems and to filter/focus on his future. He clearly couldn't get into the water to receive his healing, but he just kept hanging around the old system anyway. What was the definition of insanity? Then Jesus (the new system) shows up. The man doesn't know who he is, but He begins asking the man if he wants to be healed. Thirty eight years of excuses come out of his mouth. Then Jesus says, GET UP, PICK UP YOUR MAT AND WALK!" and the man is instantly healed, on the Sabbath nevertheless. The man didn't even know that Jesus was the one who did this to him. He just fell into a new move of God, a new Kingdom power, and a new covenant which did what the old system couldn't do for him! This speaks to me that we MUST be looking for the "NOW" move of God, and the "NOW" open door, the "NOW" healing that is available in this new covenant that we have through Christ's blood! Amazingly enough, Jesus found the old guy back at the temple a little later, and He warned the man to STOP SINNING or something worse may happen to him. The man went back to the old system, the old temple covenant, the system of sin and mark missing. Jesus warned him to get out of there and stop missing the mark!! Does this say to you what it is saying to me? WOW!!
John 5:19-21 Jesus identified that He only does and says what His Father is doing and saying. In other words, He is moving with a pre-designed CORE VISION STATEMENT and He is staying inside the confines of what God has Him doing and saying. He has filtered and focused, and His ministry is hitting planet earth like a laser beam! Make sure that your "25 word core vision statement" is in place and that you are DOING WHAT YOU SEE YOUR FATHER DOING! Heaven's success will follow!
John 6:5-14 Jesus feeds the 5,000. Jesus blesses the 5 loaves and 2 fish. The disciples do the distribution work. The little boy made the investment into the kingdom. After everyone was miraculously fed, the disciples gathered up 12 baskets of leftovers. While the scriptures don't say for sure who got the baskets of food, I imagine that there was one basket for each disciple to take home, and those disciples were charged with blessing that little boy with much more than he had initially given. I can just imagine the boy bringing a huge amount of bread and fish home to Mom, and she knew that he only took what she packed for him, 5 small loaves and 2 small fish. What a message on sowing, investing, giving, working, feeding the hungry, and receiving the benefits from God after His work was completed!!
