10/03 Daily Reading & Comments By Dr. Daniel Daves

3-Oct Jeremiah 5-6, Matthew 11-12, Psalms 26-30, Proverbs 3

Proverbs 3:3-4 NIV Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. [4] Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

I once heard a great man say, “Men are looking for better methods. But God is looking for better men.”  It’s so true that a new method, a new idea, or a new formula would be an easy fix to our current problems. Three keys to success. Four rules of business prosperity. We all search for these truths to fix our life, family, relational and family issues.

Sometimes we need to take the longer path, the harder road, and the way less traveled, and fix the fundamental man, rather than the technical method.  Today’s Proverb points to love and faithfulness as two qualities that will exalt you over time in the sight of God and mankind.  God is looking for better men, and for sure the world is looking for and hoping that there are better men in their future.

Romans 8:19 NIV For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

God IS love. We need to emulate “agape” love in its fullness, acceptance, long suffering, not easily offended, willing to forgive, willing to correct, willing to speak the truth, etc.  today we need to ask ourselves if we are walking in love with God and our fellow man.  If we are falling short, it’s time to become better men, and make the correction. Ask God to fill you daily so you can emulate Him in every circumstance, easy and hard, good, bad and ugly.  Emulating Gods love is not easy, and requires God to fill us with His love, as it is foreign to our unregenerate human nature.

God IS faithful. He keeps His word. He is a rock, a foundation, a sure cornerstone, and He never changes His mind or relents once He gives His Word.  Are we emulating faithfulness, God style?  Does our faith show up in our daily living? Are we faithful to our word, our signed contracts, our promises and agreements with family, friends, neighbors banks, credit card companies, bosses and business associates? Are we habitually on time to appointments and faithful to our words and actions? If corrections need to be made, we must become better men and emulate Gods faithfulness in everything we say and do.  This must become a lifestyle choice.

Those who become better men will be seen by the world as those whom they can trust. They will listen to you. They will want to hear what you have to say.  They will desire to be somewhat like you. They will want to befriend you and do business with you.  They will sense your love and faithfulness and want to be close to you.  How do you make friends with a hurting world? Emulate the love and faithfulness of God, and you will win the respect and honor of both God and man.  And God will recognize you as not only His child, but His growing son/daughter whom His inheritance is laid up for.

Let’s become better men in this season.  king  king  king
