09/13 Compass Guide Comments By Dr. Daniel Daves

13-Sep Isaiah 31-32, 1 John 3-4, Psalms 76-80, Proverbs 13

Proverbs 13:4 (NIV)  The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.

The Word of God makes it clear that the sluggard and the diligent have nothing in common. One can't get up to go to work and the other is hard at work.

The cravings and desires of a sluggard will never come to them. Why? Because desires NEVER come to you in fulfillment. You must go to them and seize them.

I have said many times that dimension #2 in a person's life is DESIRE.  It's through desire that a person is empowered and encouraged to GO and SEIZE that which is desired.  God puts desires inside of you so that you will chase them diligently. But if we lay on our bed and ask Him to bring those things to us, it will never happen.

Desires are fulfilled when you get busy, develop a plan, start working and possess them.  This is how God has set it up, and this is what He blesses.

Psalm 20:4 (NIV) May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

Desires of the heart and successful plans to get them - these go hand in hand.  If you have no plan, you will never get the desires that you have deep within you. But if you delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you instructions and plans on how to possess those things you desire.

Psalm 37:4-6 (NIV)  Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:  He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

The best way to delight yourself in the Lord is to identify what He has for you, and then diligently press in to go get it. Ask Him for open doors. Make Him your business partner. Seek the blueprints and plans from Him so you will be divinely successful in your hard work and diligence. And then you will hold in your possession, those things that you desire.  And remember, it was Him who put those desires in you in the first place.  Why? So you would chase them and work diligently to possess them.

Compass Guide will help you identify dimension #2 in your life: NEED, DESIRE, DREAM.  Today's Proverb has reminded the king in you that diligence will bring great fulfillment.

It's time to get to work!   king king king
