Warning to Rich Oppressors
James 5:1-6 (NIV) 1 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you.

There is no doubt that God wants to make us rich in all ways.  It's clearly part of His salvation plan, and it's impossible to NOT become rich in many ways when you are the one receiving God's inheritance which includes, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and dominion over the earth.  The definition of rich I will leave up to you.  However, I don't think it's too hard to determine what rich means, being that our Heavenly Father is the King of all creation, and He has chosen to give it to us!  Yeehaw!

The inheritance doesn't come easily to us, because while God is willing to give it, we must learn the art of receiving it.  And only dressed in the proper white wedding clothes will we come in and stay in the wedding banquet.  Only with the Spirit of Love and Jesus will we be able to open the secrets to God's gifts, including His inheritance for us.  The secrets are just not given to the wicked - period!

One thing that we must constantly check as God is giving us riches, is to make sure that we are appropriating those riches correctly.  Today's scripture in James promises that rich oppressors who defraud those whom payment is due will be miserable and judged harshly.  We must never become oppressive with our riches, but must be empowering of others through our riches.  It's entirely possible to build businesses that benefit mankind and cause jobs to come forth.  It's not hard to direct your investments and riches into places of multiplication and harvest which brings short, medium, and long term blessings upon those around those investments.  The Kingdom of God is not hard, and it's not hard to multiply when you're living in the fruitfulness of Eden.

COMPASS GUIDE continually keeps our feet in the fire of God's Word so we don't slip into oppression and incorrect thinking.  His Word is the most powerful guidance tool for a follower of Christ, and by following Him, you will receive the inheritance that's due to you.  Wisdom is calling, knowledge and understanding are knocking.

Is there anyone that you have withheld from whom it is due?  Is there anything that you need to wrap up on the earth so that you don't fall under the scrutiny of Heaven according to James 5?  Pay those to whom it is due.  Reimburse those who are working your fields.  Honor those who have helped you to get where you are currently at.  This is honorable to God, and it proves that your riches are true, honest, honorable, and secured by Heaven.
