10-Jul 2 Chron. 29-30, Acts 21-22, Psalms 51-55, Proverbs 10

2 Chron 29:1-11 (NIV) 1 Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother's name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah. 2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done. 3 In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the doors of the temple of the Lord and repaired them. 4 He brought in the priests and the Levites, assembled them in the square on the east side 5 and said: "Listen to me, Levites! Consecrate yourselves now and consecrate the temple of the Lord, the God of your fathers. Remove all defilement from the sanctuary. 6 Our fathers were unfaithful; they did evil in the eyes of the Lord our God and forsook him. They turned their faces away from the Lord's dwelling place and turned their backs on him. 7 They also shut the doors of the portico and put out the lamps. They did not burn incense or present any burnt offerings at the sanctuary to the God of Israel. 8 Therefore, the anger of the Lord has fallen on Judah and Jerusalem; he has made them an object of dread and horror and scorn, as you can see with your own eyes. 9 This is why our fathers have fallen by the sword and why our sons and daughters and our wives are in captivity. 10 Now I intend to make a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger will turn away from us. 11 My sons, do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to stand before him and serve him, to minister before him and to burn incense."

King Hezekiah turned God's fierce anger away from his nation and invoked the blessing of Heaven to such a degree that the revival was mentioned two different times in Old Testament history.  His story is the TEMPLATE for how our lives, families, and nations can return to the Lord and invoke His great blessings upon our land.
1.  Hezekiah immediately opened the doors to the temple, started scrubbing, cleaning, ridding the cob webs, and shining up the holy articles.  He made repairs needed and started bringing honor and full attention to the temple.  What, know ye not that you are the temple of the Lord?  You and I must begin to honor God's will, His calling, and His purposes in our lives. We must open the doors of the temple, invite Him to take charge, clean things up, make a straight path for God to walk in our lives, and bring HONOR to Him.
2.  Hezekiah made the necessary cuts and threw away the offending elements that were angering God.  One of the things he threw away and destroyed was the brazen serpent, which he found inside the temple of God.  His father's generation had been burning incense to this brazen serpent, worshipping it because of it's mystical (supposed) powers which had healed people in Moses day.  He smashed it and said, "It's just a stinking piece of tin, and we will NOT worship this relic, nor give any place to it in the temple of God!"  He did away with anything that had been added to the temple which God did not command.  This means that he FILTERED out everything non profitable or in line with God's will.  We must also make the same cuts with relationships, things we're worshipping, false gods, ideas, and beliefs.
3.  Hezekiah commanded the priests to prepare themselves for a bright future of temple service.  He showed them a vison of the future where God was in charge, and commanded them to honor God, His ways, and their service to Him.  He called them out of the fields where they had been working, and back to the calling of God in their lives.  In the same way, we must find God's calling in our lives, focus on it, and return to God's dream for our lives. This will honor Him and invoke His kingdom blessing on our lives, families, and nations.
4.  Hezekiah acknowledged his nation's sin against God and made a covenant with God in REPENTANCE.  He was not afraid to call a spade a spade, and to call sin for what it was.  He preached the message of repentance to himself, his nation, the priesthood, and all who heard his voice.  This call to repentance was filled with action to turn and honor God whole heartedly, and he got God's attention!  In the same way, we must acknowledge and repent publicly - our involvement in sing and missing the mark of God's high calling in our lives.  We must preach the message of repentance and restoration to ourselves, our families, communities and nations.  We will get God's attention.
5.  Hezekiah commanded the priests to start burning incense and keeping the candlestick lit in the temple.  This means that an honorable return of true WORSHIP and READING THE WORD OF GOD, following the Word as it lights the path - must be taken in our lives, just as it was in Hezekiah's day.  Compass Guide helps a student to walk in the daily reading of God's Word as it's light guides us in every decision that we make before God.
6.  Hezekiah commanded that the entire nation begin to bring financial gifts to God in honor and repentance, to prove that they meant what their lips were saying.  Put your money where your mouth is.  Trust God with your finances, and you prove that you trust God with your whole life, because finances represent your time and talent.  Everyone trades our time for money. When you give your money to God, it represents a gift back to God for the time that you spent earning the money.  This is the highest form of honor that you can give to God.
When Hezekiah did these things, he invoked Heaven's blessings upon the entire nation.  Their crops and herds began to multiply and reproduce at alarming rates.  Their fields brought in bumper crops, Joy and jubilation hit the nation and the people started giving so much to the temple of God that Hezekiah literally had to deputize new priests that had not gone through the ceremonial cleansing.  "Raise your right hand and repeat after me!", he said.  And finally, the people gave so much that the gifts piled up into heaps and King Hezekiah finally had to tell the people to STOP GIVING!! Keep it... because we just can't process it here at the temple.  WOW, what a problem for the nation to have!!!
When anyone follows this pattern and template to return to the Lord Jesus Christ and bring honor to God, the blessings of God will be invoked upon your life, your family, and even your nation.  When your nation returns to God in this manner, you will see great joy and jubilation come upon the nation.  It is an absolute certainty that it will happen for your nation, just as it did for Hezekiah's nation!  king king king
