1 Samuel 17:32-37 NIV [32] David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.” [33] Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” [34] But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, [35] I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. [36] Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. [37] The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”

Just as God prepared David for a day of battle, He is using your past victories and battles to build you up for the big, life altering, dimension changing battle in your future.

For David, this mere Philistine was less than the lion or bear that he had dealt with as a shepherd.  But imagine if he had never been rescued from the paws of a lion or bear.  He would not have had the courage to take on the Philistine giant.

Your battles, victories, and testimonies of Gods grace, deliverance, protection, and success are all building you up to a coming battle that will change the destiny and course of your life. David went from youngest son shepherd boy to high ranking military officer and son in law to the king.  And you are being prepared for a huge transition as well.

Compass Guide will keep you on course and focused so that you end up on the right battle field with the right giant, at the right time.  Remember, the giant is protecting that land from anyone who is not the rightful heir of that land. But the heir will be able to kill the giant and seize the land.  This is why its important to meet up with the right giant at the right time, under Gods divine direction rather than just finding a random giant to fight.

Filter and focus. Line your successes and experiences up and locate the direction they are pointing you to.  There is a giant waiting for you in your near future. He stands on the ground that God has given into your hands.    sunny  sunny  sunny

As a side note, David's PASSION to care for his father's sheep led him to approach and attack the lion and bear. And it was that same PASSION for God's people that caused him to stand up and take on that greasy, illicit Philistine giant. His passion to save and protect caused him to attack and win! Where is your passion "in Christ" heading today? What's the direction? The answer to this question will help you direct your compass into God's dream for your life! He put that passion in you so that you would chase it!
