22-Mar Deut 15-16 2 Cor. 11-12 Psalms 101-105 Proverbs 22

Deut 15:1-6 (NIV)1 At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. 2 This is how it is to be done: Every creditor shall cancel the loan he has made to his fellow Israelite. He shall not require payment from his fellow Israelite or brother, because the Lord's time for canceling debts has been proclaimed. 3 You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your brother owes you. 4 However, there should be no poor among you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, 5 if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today. 6 For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

Debt cancelation is an important SECRET to godly wealth in the land of promise.  God commanded Israel to cancel brotherly debts every seven years.  He stated that He would bless them so much in the land of promise that they wouldn't need to hold the debt against the brother(s).  This allowed for a complete wiping of the slate every seven years.  It gave every man a chance to start over and walk free from bad decisions, failed business endeavors, and things that just went wrong in life.  Amazingly, our U.S. bankruptcy system has been created over the last century on the template of this principle.  Every seven years, a man may be able to file for bankruptcy, wipe his debts clean, and start over.  There will be a mark against his credit report, but he will be free to operate under the economy of God and rebuild his life.

In today's thought and study, we must consider that we are headed to our land of promise which COMPASS GUIDE helps us to locate and direct our efforts to.  This land of promise is the place of our hopes, desires, and dreams.  It will be the place where God will bless us mightily with multiple streams of water which will feed our "garden of Eden", and all of our needs will be taken care of.  In this place, you will not need to hold people who cannot pay their debts back to you after seven years.  You will be able to let them go free and not hold their debts against them.  Can you imagine being so wealthy that you can forgive huge debts, $100,000 loans, and $1,000,000 loans or larger?

Even more importantly than financial debt forgiveness, we MUST realize that spiritual and mental debt forgiveness must be executed if we are to ever enter our land of promise.  Holding people who have wronged us will totally destroy our ability to enter and seize control of our land of promise.  We must be clean and clear. We must hold no bitterness or harbor no resentments against anyone if we are going to hear from God, have Him walk beside us, open doors for us, and give us an inheritance.  Our inheritance from God comes with no strings attached, no resentment, bitterness, no vendettas to settle, etc.  The land comes freely. But we must be free men if we are going to inherit this free land.

Matt 6:11-12 (KJV)11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

To the degree that we forgive, that's the degree we are forgiven.  Remember the man who was forgiven by the king of his huge debt, and then he threw a man in prison who owed him $100?  That man was quickly re-captured and thrown in prison by the one who had originally forgiven him.  Therefore, God's forgiveness is conditional on us also forgiving, "AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS".

Let's be honest.  Forgiving those who have harmed and imprisoned us is not easy.  And sometimes we can look into our lives and see that we've actually held on to hurts and wounds for more than seven years.  It's time to let them go.  Especially if you want to enter your personal land of promise.  You cannot enter it while harboring resentment, bitterness, or ill feelings towards others.  You must be free in order to inherit the land freely.

I want to encourage you to find any and all that you have held resentment against, and forgive and release them before the Lord.  Do not hold on to them any longer, as that is only going to harm and hinder you.  They're not going to turn around or make things right just because they know how angry and bitter you are at them.  They're moving on with their lives.  Therefore, let them go.  Let God judge.  And remember that God says that you don't need them to repay their debts in order to prosper and be successful.  God will abundantly bless you in the land He's taking you to, and you don't need their repayment.  He is bringing you to freedom and abundance.   sunny cheers  sunny
